Airports in Alaska

Featured Replies

I like to fly in Alaska and Washington and I would like to know some nice/challenging aiports in either of those states that I should know of. I especially like airports that are in the mountains, the forest, or on islands. Basically anything that you can use for bush flying.

go to www.munchbros.com and get get acquainted. There are great sceneries for Kodiak Island, Kenia Penninsula, and Oregon that the local expert has developes. He made a really cool strip for me in Kodiak that is a challenging landing. Love that website. Fly with them for their wednesday night flight whenever I get the chance. They are all Alaska, all the time. Small town, you might like them

You might also try bfu.avsim.net. They have a forum that threads from the top of AVSIM's forums. In there, you will find job postings which the member pilots fly and then relate their flight back to the forum. I don't quite go that far but at times, pick one of their jobs to fly just because I can't think of a flight on my own. They have scenery designers currently working on FSX scenery so things will start to pick up from that aspect soon (I hope).

Thanks, I'll check those out. If you can fly helicopters in FSX you should get the Timberline Lodge Scenery at http://www.munchbros.com or if you have trouble finding it there do a google search for, "FSX Timberline Lodge". It's really nice, plus it's a challenge to land at the ranger staion.
