Constant Crashing of FS2020

Featured Replies

Lately when I load an aircraft (aerosoft crj for example) and inputting data on the FMS, the game suddenly crashes.  Sometimes it does it right away, other times during flight when you are trying to view something. Once you click on the button, the game hangs and crashes.

I am getting that with the Aerosoft CRJ... only.  especially when programming the FMC. It's happened 3 times. I went over to Aerosoft and couldn't find anything.  But that doesn't mean anything.  I posted about TAA ghosting on the official MSFS forum and everyone said nope I don't have that problem. a week later...  Oh holy word not allowed there is TAA ghosting, oh man it is really bad I have it too. So do I, me too.  Sometimes the conditions aren't right to replicate or people aren't really paying attention to every little thing.

On my system when you try to change waypoints then hit execute it freezes and never recovers then eventually crashes to desktop.  Not getting that in any other airplanes, just the CRJ series. There has not been a new update since Nov 2021 so, there is no new version.  I'll write a support ticket.

Have you updated your driver recently? The new Nvidia one seems to be crashing some games quite regularly.

Yes, I have updated drivers.  I ran across this and tried it. I did this two days ago, and  so far no crashes:

On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time to gain run box

type or paste control /name Microsoft.PowerOptions and click OK.

In the pop-up window, select High Performance and click Change plan settings.

Click the Turn off the display drop-down list and select Never. Then click Save changes.
