FS-ATC-Chatter 1.2.0 Beta

Featured Replies

Just looked at the User Guide but still confused.  I have the complete Chatter package. Can you please give a full explanation of how it integrates/works with Pilot2ATC?

Hi Mark,

AVG threw a suspicious detection error upon launch of the new Beta executable. I don't think it quarantined it, so maybe it's alright. After throwing a few application level errors, the Clip Update screen came up and successfully updated 405 US clips and deleted 10 obsolete ones.

I exited and re-launched the app, no errors. I'll check functionality now with the sim up.

i am on P2ATC Beta1h now - using full FS ATC Chatter - in p2atc config under sounds i checked Controller Folders - put all sound files as they come in the folder e.g. Europe C:\Pilot2ATC_2020_x64\Sounds\ATC_Chatter\Regions\Europe\Controllers, checking the checkbox Play Chatter and it works.

Take a look at the Pilot2ATC tutorial video, it is the 2nd one on this page:

https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/fs-atc-chatter-tutorials/

When you use Pilot2ATC you just need the clips as Pilot2ATC has its own built-in player.

what you can use the FS-ATC-Chatter player for periodically checking for clip updates and after they are down you can copy them over to Pilot2ATC as demonstrated in the tutorial.

Note, the tutorial use X-ATC-Chatter as an example but the folder structure is identical in FS-ATC-Chatter.

@rcarlson1971 Any idea why AVG would be complaining about FS-ATC-Chatter.exe?

Mark

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately the AVG log shows nothing on why it flagged the executable. Good news is the Beta version is working just fine. I did a quick VFR test flight and it was running and switching frequencies just fine.

Could be any one of a number of reasons, such as the exe is not signed with a code signing certificate, or the fact that it's not widely downloaded, so it hasn't built up a positive reputation yet. (Not sure if AVG uses that sort of strategy, but Windows Defender definitely does.)

Hi Mark just installed the FS ATC Chatter 1.2 will let you know how i get on.

Cheers Glynn

Hi Mark,

I have, I hope, followed the instructions you gave me previously and copied the new (beta) Region Folder into the Pilot2ATC sounds directory which I have been using for some time.

The problem is that I am not sure where FS-ATC-Chatter should go - ie in its own area or within Pilot2ATC somewhere.  Also a little confused (again) as I do not see the 'Check For Clip Updates' box when I run ATC Chatter

FS-ATC-Chatter would normally be placed at the root of the C or D drive or any other folder you want to put it in. The check for clip updates is on the settings dialog on the Miscellaneous tab. See page 5 of the User Guide.

Hi Mark,

I have worked out what the problem was.  I had not copied all the Region files into the beta FS-Chatter Regions folder from my PIlot2ATC Regions folder. All working now 🙂 thanks

I launched the beta just now and there is a 1.2.1 update? That is newer than the Beta? I can pull it down from the other site where I was sent to with my original receipt? Thanks!

FS-ATC-Chatter 1.2.1 is officially released now. Thanks for all your help testing it. You can get it here:

https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/fs-atc-chatter-1-2/

Don't forget to check for clip updates using that new feature in the player. See the tutorials:
