Z690 Hero no bios speaker header?

Featured Replies

Has anybody with the Z690 Hero found the BIOS speaker header?

Or have Asus decided to dispense with it now?

We have the Q-Codes of course, so no big deal, but I do tend to add a speaker in my builds usually.

I assume that's the ROG Maximus Hero (the only Z690 Hero) I saw on the Asus site? A quick look at the manual shows no speaker header so it does look like they've dispensed with it. I miss having a speaker - certainly easier than peering round the side of the case (and worse if it's under a desk!), but at least my new TUF Gaming Z690 has the header if I wanted to use it. Strange they don't have a common policy on the new generation of mobos.

That's the one. I couldn't see anything in then manual either, or on the board.

A bit redundant now anyway as the board is going back. It has a significant degree of warping. Given the price of the boards these day they can have that one back. 🙄
