Demo vs Paid

Featured Replies

Questions...

Is the file name for the demo version the same as the purchased version?

I had to delete an older version and may have unwittingly deleted my PAID version not KNOWING it was the paid version.

Now the only thing that will install is the demo version.  It's not clear (that I can find) what needs to be done to install the paid (non-broken) version.  Do I uninstall the demo using Windows, or simply install over the demo version.

Please point me to an answer.  This would certainly inform me why all my gauges just stop.

I purchased AAO directly from your website, and the Paypal transaction (ID 3PB279420E4783112) does not include an install code, or license.  I really want to use this, but I don't remember ever seeing a usual README file that gives the user some installation guidance.  I can't find anything in your install notes about uninstalling the demo.  Is that required?

I hate to be a nudge, but this is driving me crazy.

Rick

EDIT:  Can I download AAO again?

Yes, all file names are the same in demo and paid version. You need to redownload the app from the store if you don't have that ZIP file anymore - please contact WildfireTrainingSolutions about that, I'm not involved in the actual sales. I've forwarded your request as well, but it wouldn't hurt if you wrote a separate email to them (address is on the last page of the AAO manual)

It doesn't need one. These are just two separate builds of the same app.

I found my original zip file and re-installed it.  I presume when I did it overwrote the AAO plugin that was already there.  I'm still having problems with the little button gauges working - either because they aren't installed correctly, aren't used in a specific profile, etc.  So, it's been a constant frustration.  Hell, I don't even know if the simulator should be running or not when some of this stuff is installed.  Are there restrictions that I should know about?  Your user guide is better than most.  I just need something that encompasses the entire process and flow to follow.  I've never liked learning in bits and pieces.  🙂

What "flow"? What "stuff"? What "little button gauges" are you talking about? I'm afraid that you will have to be a lot more specific, I have no idea what you are trying to do.

But - I really cannot explain an app that needs 100 pages of user manual to every single customer in person. AAO is a complex application and it has a learning curve. Documentation has been provided to help with that. Other members of the community made how-to's and videos on YouTube.

I wasn't being accusatory of anything you've done, or provided.  It was more of a rhetorical response based on my continued frustration.  I'm simply trying to take what other people have done, and get it to work together - presumably like it should work.  That is all.  Your AAO SD plugin, a few popular plane SD profiles and AAO XML scripts(Guenseli) - ones I've downloaded and get the Steam gauges/buttons to display active flight information.  I can't seem to get consistent, reliable and repeatable action from the combination of the 2 pieces I'm working with; (1) the SD profile, and (2) the AAO xml script to achieve some expected and desirable display and function on the Stream Deck keyboard.  I solved one mystery with the demo mode!

I'm not asking you for personal support.

From your answer I gather that this is about the StreamDeck plugin? AAO can do a hundred things, and this use case is just one of them - that is why I asked about what "flow and stuff" we are talking about.

Can't say that I've heard about intermittend problems with the SD before. It usually either works or it doesn't, there never was a middle ground where it worked just a little bit...

The SD profiles and scripts that you dowload from sites like flightsim to are not provided by Lorby. If you have issues with them, you should contact the author of the profile.

In any case, if you need support, please be specific. The app is so big that we need as much information as you can give in as much fine detail as possible.

Hello,

I just heard back from Wildfire Training Solutions. Please make sure to contact them. They are saying that their software shop was faulty (it can't provide updates to a product that you bought there) and that it has been closed. People who bought a copy of AAO at the LWR shop are offered a full refund, so they can buy it again in another shop to stay in the update loop.
