Hi,

i recently updated P3d to 5.3hf2 from 5.2hf2 following these steps;

Uninstall client and content

Delete shaders

Delete p3d.cfg file

Install client

Install content

Fire up the sim without asp3d first time

Set your options like desired

Run default scenario

Close sim
 

I am seeing quite a strange issue, all my afcad (bgl) files seem to be corrupted. All the parking stands assignment have become pretty much random. I tried to edit them and reassign the gates using airport editor I also tried to reinstall the airports and reinstall P3d scenery but so far nothing has worked. 

 

This is very odd and it has never happened to me before. Is there something I am missing. 

did you also uninstall scenery and reinstall v5.3 scenery?

clear shaders folder and delete generated files?

I did reinstall 5.3 scenery I also did clear shaders folder. 
i am not quite familiar with this delete generated files, isn’t going to remove all my sceneries installed?

it shouldn't do, but you could always backup the folders first. There are 6 folders in total scattered around the drives.

well it won't make it worse.

Did you also restart the pc after the install?

I did restart my PC , On all my addons installed the parking stands assignment are random even though the afcad seem correct.

ok, when you go into p3d can you check that your 3rd party airports are above all the standard default scenery. It sounds like there all mixed up.

There is a great program called lorby's p3daddonorganiser. it free you will be able to check and move scenery up or down the scenery list

It will have done so I hope you backed up your scenery and addon folders first.

Really this is the nuclear option and isn’t required for a point update. Uninstalling scenery and reinstalling it would have solved any problems.

Ray, did you read my posts. that was exactly what I suggested - backup the folders first.

Reinstalling hasn’t done anything for me. I first thought it was from a certain publisher but I believe all my sceneries have the very same issue. And I did check addons are all above standard default sceneries. 
 

I honestly don’t understand why all my sceneries run normally P3d runs fine as well but only this parking stand assignment is a problem.

He didn’t confirm that he’d done it Brian, only that he would try it.

Running Delete Generated Files is totally unnecessary for point updates.
