January 30, 20224 yr Hello, I posted this on the fsdeveloper forum earlier but as avsim gets quite a bit more traffic, I thought I'd try here too. There doesn't seem to be a subforum it quite fits in, so I hope here is ok: I'm curious - is there a way in MSFS, via a poly or anything else, to force autogen buildings in an area to only be created from a specific library? My specific use case is the villages near all the bush strips in Papua New Guinea. It's great that this sim natively includes dozens or hundreds of these strips, but the autogen buildings that make up the village are usually a little out of place. Apartment complexes, suburban duplexes with satellite dishes etc. You know, your standard mountaintop jungle village. Talented devs have handcrafted some of the better known strips, but the large majority just use autogen. So I was wondering if I could throw polys around individual strips, or big ones around entire regions, and force the autogen buildings to be selected from only specified libraries? Thanks for any ideas... I somewhat knew my way around ADE and photoscenery development back in FSX, but I'm clueless here. Andrew Crowley
January 30, 20224 yr I do not have a solution but, just for the record, there was a related question raised by some of us in the Q&A which didn’t make it to the live session, if I am not mistake. There is a need for BS.ai to revisit its algorithms. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/blackshark-ai-status-are-they-still-involved/489688 Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam
January 30, 20224 yr Author Thanks. Yeah, the concern is that the autogen is all done server-side before being streamed to us, so while our local handcrafted scenery can override what's streamed, maybe there's no way to do it using autogen? I don't know... but somebody must! Andrew Crowley
January 30, 20224 yr Sounds like a market for profitable add-ons based on regions! Like Orbx has done in the past! Chris Camp
