Dreaded "This App Can't Open" error message

Featured Replies

After installing WU7 update, get "This App Can't Open" error message so cannot get into the game.  I've read where others have had this on previous updates so I could use some help

to fix this.  Never had any problems on previous updates.  Have the latest Windows 11 updates and RTX 3080 Nvidia drivers.

Did you try to repair MSFS within windows "Apps and Features". If you click on the MSFS app there is an "Advanced options" that you can click and then select "Repair". Whatever you do DON'T click "Reset"!!!!!!!!

I did try to repair it but still get the error message.  I also tried renaming the Community folder.  If anybody has experienced this error in the past, I'd really appreciate hearing how you solved the problem.

Thanks!

It shows the error message immediately, including when launching MSFS through the Xbox app.  Thanks for your help!

Somiller,

Thanks for your help!  I spoke with Microsoft about it and after we tried a few things that didn't work, they advised to uninstall/reinstall.  It worked and only took a couple of hours to do.

Had the same issue and had to reinstall. Unfortunately for me it took about 4 days to re install!
