A&O xTOUCH Radio only one button

Featured Replies

I want one xtouch rotary know to control Nav frequencies with the combo methode I have found in FS2020 forum.

One rotary encoder 4 assignments all as combo = toogle.

Turn left = NAV1_RAdio_FRACT_DEC_CARRY  = decrease  (if knob is not pressed and turned left)

Turn left = NAV1_RADIO_WHOLE_DEC = decrase ONLY if rotary knob is pressed and turned left)

and so on.

That doesnt work: if I turn the knob left both assigments get active always, pressed or unpressed are ignored.

I save the key  assignment  with the green combo light active, load the assignment again the combo green light is inactive and assigned button/key is active.
I'm not really sure which assignemnt is active since it always changes when opened again.

Reading the post this should be possible to have one rotary knob manage all 4 functions? Correct?

Please post screenshots of the four assignments that you made.

Just for reference: two assignments have the combo only with "is toggle" active. The other two have the combo with "is toggle" AND "suppress key down event" active (because you don't want them to be triggered, when the toggle is active)

1. Opern Add Button dialog
2. Select key down event at the top
3. Click on the green LED next to "Assigned button/key"
4. Turn the controller on the XT until you see the turn appear in the textbox
5. Click on the green LED next to "Assinged Combo"
6. Press the controller on the XT, so the CLICK event appears in the Combo field
7. Apply "is toggle" and "suppress Key Down Event" as required
8. repeat for the other three assignments.

The "green light" shows you which textbox on the dialog is active to receive input. It has nothing to do with the operation of the assignment itself.

I would appreciate if a user out there would provide a visual display of how axis and ohs allows for combo buttons and rotaries to change either com or nav frequencies with only one  encoder and a built in clickable button.

Despite having read the manual and followed the above instructions, I am still having difficulty getting the wanted results.

I am using the latest a&o version and xtouch.

thank you.

What seems to be the problem? It really isn't that difficult (I think).

1. you need four (4) assignments in total for the same rotary encoder. COM INC/DEC, NAV INC/DEC assigned to the left/right turns of the encoder
2. you add the same Combo button  (that is, the push action of the encoder) to all 4, setting it to "toggle" (below the Combo box) on all 4 assignments.
3. for both NAV assignments so set the combo to "suppress key down event" (also below the Combo box). On the two COM assignments you leave that unchecked.

That's it. Clicking the encoder switches between COM and NAV turns.

Thank you. Your quick response is greatly appreciated. This final example made it all clear.
