Requst: Ablility to run without microphone

Featured Replies

Request for a new option for Pilot2ATC. Can we have an option to disable the use of the voice recognition or at least allow the program to connect to the simulator without a microphone?

Currently the program when it tries to connect the simulator, it will show a message if no microphone is detected and then not connect. However if a microphone is detected, then of course it connects but the program can be run fine without actually using it. Instead we can use the "SayIt Speech Assistant" to do the same thing as normally would be done with our voice. And with the "Favorite" feature in the beta version of Speech Assistance, it makes the use of that feature so much better!

Now I know the question arises as to why this request, given that one of the big features of the program is the voice recognition. In my case, due to medical issues, my voice is rather raspy and voice recognition software often has trouble fully understanding me. This is not the fault of the program or any other speech recognition but simply that the voice is not clear enough.

Pilot2ATC is a great program and I love to use it but it is frustrating that it does not properly understand me because of the above issue. So please, if possible, provide a way to use the program without the voice recognition.

Thank You for your consideration.

Even when using SayIt, the Speech Engine requires a microphone so, no, it's not possible to change the program to not use it.

However, you can plug in any cheap set of earbuds that has a mic for use with a phone and the PC will detect it and P2A will function with SayIt only.
