March 26, 20224 yr I thought that smoke effects were supposed to be introduced in one of the last updates. I started the DC6 this morning and didn't see any smoke from the engines . Is this up to PMDG to enable this?

Probably these effects all need to be added to each aircraft by the developers. I have seen a smoke effects on a few addon aircraft but had to look for them since the effects were quite modest (probably realistic). A Diamond twin is going to smoke very differently from a DC-6. So yeah, you'd want PMDG to have control over smoke effects. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light

Several DC6 issues have popped up recently and some others have been around for months, with no apparent fix coming soon. I guess they are busy with the 737.
March 27, 20224 yr If the issues are as minor as "it doesn't smoke on startup" I guess I can't really get behind the irritation. I'm sure they'll come along and fix it at some point, but you have to grant some leeway when not everything they might have wanted to implement was even possible on release. The DC6 was the first high-fidelity plane released for MSFS, and it came out when the sim was struggling with basic things like actually having wind.
