RTX 3080 Ti pixel support question

Featured Replies

Considering an RTX 3080 Ti with 3 DisplayPort and 2 HDMI ports (5 total).
I have 5 monitors (all 1920 x 1080) for 180 degrees of the outside-the-window view.
The RTX 3080 Ti supports 7680 x 4320 = 33,177,600 pixels
The 5 monitors work out to 9600 pixels wide x 1080 pixels tall = 10,368,000 pixels
Please confirm/deny... this GPU should be able to support this setup despite the 5 monitors total width exceeds 7680 pixels... yes?
Thanks.

After doing a bit more thinking on this subject, it appears that the RTX 3080 Ti can not only easily support the 5 each 1920x1080 monitors, it has enough overhead to support another 4, if only it had enough ports.  I decided to pickup the Gigabyte AORUS Master RTX 3080 Ti with 6 ports (3 HDMI + 3 Display Ports).  That should easily handle 6 each 1920x1080 monitors (5 external views + 1 instrument panel) at 16,588,800 pixels, or half of the 3080 Ti's capacity.  In the future, should I decide to replace the 5 smaller external view monitors with large 4k TVs/monitors, the 3080 Ti should be able to handle those also.  I suppose I'm no longer looking for input, unless somebody sees something I'm missing.

FWIW, my PC is an i7-9700K with Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Pro Wifi ATX LGA1151 motherboard, 32 GB RAM, and 1000 W PSU.

Thanks.

The questions I have are whether you'll be able to get any useful level of AA/AF on a display matrix of that size with only 12GB of VRAM, and what kind of frame rate is possible pushing that much output bandwidth.

I'll be interested to hear if the theory is borne out by the experience.

Cheers

Thanks, Bob, for the reply.
Once I get it installed and try it out, I’ll post the results here.

I’m typically getting fps in the 30s - 40s with four monitors on client PC (with 3080Ti GPU) driven by WidevieW.
