I have extracted orthophotos of the area that I want, but I do not know what I am supposed to do in order to build the BGL files for P3D. Can someone please help?

After watching a tutorial on YouTube, I think that I may have done the first Batch Build for XPlane by mistake. Standby for updates.....

As a first attempt, the end result is not bad. However, there seems to be a visible "strip joint" in the scenery, which I think is where the tiles for 7 degrees west and 8 degrees west meet. Is there a way to get rid of this? I also need a higher resolution terrain mesh, so I will see if I can find anything.

I seem to have fixed it. I needed to copy any BGL files with the same designations from the western tile folder to the eastern tile folder. Four tiles cover the Faroe Islands, so I copied files with matching names from the Southwest to the Southeast folder, and the same with the Northwest and Northeast folders. A quick check has revealed that the "joint strip" has gone.

To be honest, this has worked a lot better than I was expecting. I thought that there would be problems with inconsistent texture colouration across the entire archipelago, but I do not see anything obvious. Nevertheless, it would still be nice to have higher resolution terrain mesh.....

Chris, sounds like you sorted it.

As you noted, you get a missing strip at the one degree borders.

I made the Faroe Islands a couple of years back with this tool. From memory, I combined all the files in one folder, then renamed the files that had duplicate names. If you delete the apparent duplicates, you get the strip of missing photo scenery.

Faroe Islands had a few clouds when I built - I ended up editing the ortho files and rebuilding it, ended up looking good.

Do you know where I can get higher resolution terrain mesh for these islands, Rob?
