where is virtual cockpit???

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone. This is my first posting to this forum. I hope this is the right place to ask this question.I installed many airplanes from avsim library. They are original aircrafts, they are not AI aircrafts, but when I click F9 there is no virtual cockpit. All the aircrafts I downloaded have the same problem. Is it normal or what am I doing wrong. I am putting the downloaded airplane in the airplane folder under simobjects. PLease help. thanx.

Welcome newbie,Firstly, the VC should be the default view unless you have changed this setting in the Settings/Display/Aircraft dialogue. Also, it is possible that you have not activated the Function keys on your keyboard. To activate these keys you have to hit the F Lock key which is the far right key on the top row of your keyboard. If this doesn't work you can right click your mouse anywhere on your view to bring up a menu of view options. The top option lets you select the VC.I hope this helps.Mike.

I think many freeware add-on aircraft do not have a VC, just a 2D version.Daniel

Hello Mike Thank you for your explanations but I already set my default setting to 3D virtual cockpit. I can also see the VC of the original planes in FSX but I can not see the VC for the planes that I download from Avsim. I just started to play FS 1 month ago. Maybe the free-ware airplanes don't have the VC like other people say. Thanx.

As Daniel says, the aircraft you downloaded very well may *not* have a virtual cockpit.VC's are designed into the model itself, and are not manufactured "on-the-fly" by the simulation. The model must be coded for it. Therefore, if you launch a flight with an airplane with no virtual cockpit, you will end up looking straight out at nothing.Press (A) to scroll views back to the 2D cockpit. :)-Greg
