May 25, 200719 yr I am thinking about getting a set of pedals and am trying to decide between the two so I thought it would be good to get some user feedback. Which one do you think is better? Why? Thanks!
May 25, 200719 yr I like the Saitek's, but have never tried the CH pedals. Playing "aerobatic" pilot, where I do a lot of forceful to the stops, pedal movement, I did manage to jamb the pedals; which required taking the screws out of the bottom. The toe brakes worked instantly in X-Plane, but I still haven't configured them for FS2004/FSX. I don't use the Saitek software, and no longer seem to have the patience for being a computer tweaking geek! :) Someday, I'll get the brakes working. Probably as easy as 1-2-3!L.Adamson
May 25, 200719 yr Author I have the CH, but would probably buy the Saitek right now. They weren't available when I got mine.I'm not disappointed or complaining about the CH pedals. They've given me four years of excellent service without a single problem. And my grandchildren have failed to break them on several attempts. Objective people I trust have said the Saitek has a better feel requiring more force to use the pedals due to the tension adjustement capability. You can slam the rudder around accidentally with the CH.I think, but am not sure, the pivot point for the toe brakes is higher up the pedal than at the very bottom for the CH. Very easy to disengage the parking brake when you try to rest your heels on the CH.The Saitek is larger, taking more underdesk real estate. I've heard of more configuration issues with Saitek than CH, but to be honest it's usually people not reading the manual. And for the best functionality and control of functions, the full pay version of FSUIPC is more than worth the money for either product, and so much more.
