April 30, 20224 yr Hi, lets say i fly IFR low altitude airways to Orlando International, the ATC tells me i will have to land on 18L (RNAV 18L) and they tell me im clear to proceed to ZANTI. Thing is, in my original flightplan i would still have another Waypoint loaded, im on my leg to COZMO. I currently have no Approach loaded in the G1000. What do i do now? Load the approach and activate it, going straight to ZANTI from my current position? Or do i keep flying as planned and finish my leg to COZMO and then to BITHO (last waypoint before KMCO airport in my flightplan) and then proceed to ZANTI? Same goes for a missed approch. Once i reached the Missed Approch altitude, i was still a bit away from the Missed Approach Waypoint where the Holding pattern starts, then ATC clears me back to ZANTI. So i instantly activate the approach and fly straight to ZANTI? Or do i have to get to the Missed Approach waypoint and fly at least one holding before proceeding to ZANTI? Thanks!
April 30, 20224 yr Author What i should add: I did not select the RNAV 18L Approach in the World Map when doing the flight plan. The Approach was assigned to me during my IFR flight.
April 30, 20224 yr Default ATC is a disaster but yeah I'd load the approach using ZANTI and activate it. In real world it's a simple clearance -N12345 cleared direct zanti, cross zanti at 4000, cleared rnav runway one eight approach.
