May 1, 20224 yr Hi there - New P2A user, after a couple years of being fed up with default ATC this is a godsend. For the most part, it works really well! I like doing short hops between KMSP and KDLH when I don't have a lot of time. The Simbrief flight plan for this is: KMSP DCT GEP DCT DLH DCT KDLH P2A often assigns the KBREW1 SID with a GEP transition, recently from RW04 and 30L. Two problems: P2A requires me to fly the entire SID, which appears to start at GEP and goes West for about 50 NM, ending at KBREW1. After KBREW1, it gives me a heading to back track the entire SID all the way to GEP before heading North. According to my navdata, there is no GEP transition for this SID. A couple notes: Similar behavior in the stable and open beta releases The A320nx, MSFS, and P2A all have the latest nav data - 2204r1 I know I could turn off the check box for "ATC Assigns SID", but I like it when it assigns SIDs based on flight plan, traffic and weather. Is this a bug or a user error? Thank you!
May 1, 20224 yr Commercial Member Using Auto Plan on short flights, just put in the departure and arrival airports and then use Auto Plan. If you have GEP in your starting plan, P2A is going to use it as the first waypoint after the SID. If you are going to include waypoints, they should be the transition points for the SID, STAR or Approach you want, even on longer flights. If you want SIDs and STARs, you might want to have Simbrief add them, then the waypoints will work as the transition points. Dave
May 1, 20224 yr Author The flight plan import doesn't accept just "KMSP KDLH", but it does accept "KMSP DCT KDLH". Regardless, upon using auto-plan to set runways and the KDLH approach (which I want to do so it's based on weather), the same SID is added - unless I uncheck "ATC Assigns SIDs". Maybe for this route, and other short ones, the answer is just to uncheck this option? Thanks!
May 1, 20224 yr Commercial Member That's correct. If you look at the SID options out of KMSP, none of them go north. For short flights, I always uncheck the assign SID and STAR options because they are rarely appropriate. Dave
