Updates will not overwrite all of your customizations. Believe me every sim or world update will undo your editing (restore the files to original). But if your edited versions are all in Community and you rename community before an update, then all will remain as you created it.

For instance changing views, like in the 737.

Thanks for posting this, if I do have one gripe for MSFS it is the janky (imo) camera setup, please god let there be an add-on similar to ChasePlane for MSFS on the horizon.
