Hi,

I'm a newbee here, just got the VRInsight combo and installed everything according to the instructions on this forum. (MSFS2020 and the new PMDG 737-700). I got everything to work, all buttons and knobs work but the screen on the VRInsight does not work. No matter what I try. It does load the right plane but all values are on 0000 or -----. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Which version of VRI MCP do you have? Original, Boeing or Airbus?

Is the MCP display completely blank?

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply. I have the Boeing version, SerialFP v. 2.52 Jet-Liner. When i start it up the MCP display shows:

MCP-II/Boeing Type v1.100

VRinsight, Flight Dream Supplier!

The Radio display says: Instrument Radio via VRiSim.

@Krekel325 thanks for confirming you have the MCP2 Boeing. The message you are seeing should change when FSUIPC7 first starts. It should also ‘flash’. If you are not seeing this the problem is with you FSUIPC7 setup.

It does Flash when I startup FSUIPC and tell me to select my aircraft and fly now.. next I startup VRIsim and the device is not found. I turn the Combo off and ON again and now it's found. The Boeing PDMG 737NGX is selected, when i press Fly it comes back with the message that FSUIPC isn't found, FSUIPC is running in the system tray. So somehow VRInsight can't seem to find FSUIPC somehow.. 

kind of lost now, folowed the instructions but I'm going wrong somewhere and I don't know where...

 

Ok, rebooted again, checked all the ini files and setup's. -> started MSFS2020  --> started the PDMG 737  --> Started the VRI panel  --> got the welcome screan on the VRI panel  --> started VRI --> found the panel and pressed FLY. This is what i see now:

Rebooted again, B737 cockpit up and running, startup FSUIPC, startup VRI panel, Startup VRinsight, can't find the panel, turn panel off and on again, VRinsight can find the panel, select the plane and Fly, now it can't find my FSUIPC while FSUIPC is running... 

@Krekel325 you can not switch the MCP off and on without also restarting FSUIPC7 and LINDA. FSUIPC7 must reinitialise the MCP before it will work. This is the display flashing.

Do you have VRSIM.EXE running? Only either VRSIM.EXE or LINDA can control the MCP at one time.

I only have LINDA running now, the knobs and buttons work, just not the display. The display doesn't change when I turn a knob, the values in the cockpit do...

Thanks for your patience Andrew, I've been strugglin with this for a day and a half now. Hope I will find a way to fix this... (or hire a LINDA expert) 😉

@Krekel325 I still need to see the logs. As I said earlier, please read and follow the Fault Diagnosis Procedure (under LINDA Support) and email me the logs.

I have the same trouble.  Knobs and switches in the sim work but the display doesn't change.

 

EDIT:  Mine started to work......don't know why........

With MSFS it can take some time (one or 2 minutes) before FSUIPC7 and LINDA fully initialise. This is indicated by the READY message under the Sync to Sim or in the LINDA Console.

Strangely enough, mine started to work also. I will try to understand why... Thanks Andrew...

My next thing now is the rotary encoders, they are far from precise. I don't think this is a software issue but more the wear-out of the encoders. I know it's a different subject but I just want to check wether this is software related or they might need to be replaced...
