little nav map zooms in to a preferred scale when you  fly, if you manually zoom in to  read something particular, shortly after the maps will zoom back  to its preferred scale.

during landing the LNM zoom in  to a very small scale, this particular zooming is demanding for the graphics card and lead to stuttering in msfs at short final, and result in crash.

what is the setting  to prevent this auto zoom. The scale that a user scroll in to  is the scale the map should show until changed by the user.

There are a few ways to configure zooming to your liking LNM option on page "Simulator Aircraft".
See here about the details: https://www.littlenavmap.org/manuals/littlenavmap/release/2.6/en/OPTIONS.html#simulator-aircraft

The default is to zoom to aircraft and next flight plan waypoint. You can move and zoom around the map manually and it jumps back to centering after an adjustable timeout.

Or disable all zooming and centering in "Map" -> "Center Aircraft".

Edit: I doubt this zooming is very demanding except you set map details too high. Also exclude the LNM settings and database folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel from anti-virus scanning.

When I want to re-center the map on the aircraft I use the button on the top.  Now, whether flying or on ground and with no flight plan, I always get a very close-in zoom of the aircraft - the scale at the bottom shows 0.3 mi for about 1/2 of the horizontal width.  That is too close to be useful so I have to zoom back out each time, and I use this function a lot.  Is there a way to set this default zoom to a larger value and have it stick?  Thank You

Note: I now reset all options and zoom is much better after manual aircraft centering. Still like to know if this can be changed if it happens again.

The zoom for the menu item "Go to User aircraft" (Ctrl+PgUp) and similar functions can be defined on the page "Map Navigation":

You can also enable and disable "Map follows user aircraft" (Ctrl+Alt+A) to jump back to the aircraft.

For flying try these settings:

As a result LNM will not change the zoom (you can set it manually) but keep your aircraft in the center of the screen.
