June 29, 20223 yr So when it come to rain seen at a far distance, the current implementation looks fantastic for the most part. My jaw has dropped when I've seen the familiar hills near where I live get shrouded in sheets of rain in a very convincing manner. So close to the real thing it's crazy. The issue is when you look just outside the plane. You cannot see raindrops day or night unless there is some artificial light source shining on them or lightening flashes. This was not always the case and I can't even remember which update did it but it just isn't realistic. Now I get that it was probably overdone before but in real life, raindrops are clearly visible in daylight. As it stands, you see the effect of them hitting the glass and there are splashing on the ground but the air is absolutely clear. Its an immersion breaker for me and I think Asobo needs to give it another look. The other thing I've noticed is that some flood lights at add-on airports don't even illuminate the rain anymore. Anyone else has noticed this? I know @Abriael made a thread on the official forum once but that's all I've seen. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
June 29, 20223 yr Perhaps but I worry they will not get it right and we would get that terrible 'warp speed streaking tunnel effect' that every other sim seems to have when the plane is moving and its raining. That would be much worse then we have now. Edited June 29, 20223 yr by sanh

With a little tweaking I think they can get it just right. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
