July 1, 20223 yr If I import a flight plan from Simbrief, Pilot2ATC constantly stops responding during the flight. This has happened on the past few flights where I have used Simbrief to plan. Other methods like importing a plan that was set up in MSFS2020 work ok.
July 2, 20223 yr Commercial Member Where the plan initially comes from doesn't matter once it's been imported or entered manually. If the program is actually freezing up, then you are likely running out of memory or CPU resources. You need at least 32GB of memory if running with MSFS. If you just stop getting directions from ATC, but the moving map continues to work normally, then it could be an error causing ATC to shut down. In that case, you can email the P2A log file to me and I can have a look. Be sure to include a detailed description of the symptoms. P2A Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab. After having the problem and shutting down P2A, select the most recent log file as it will be the one with the problem. Dave
July 4, 20223 yr Author It is definitely freezing and needs to be closed via task manager (task manager says P2A suspended) and re-opened to respond again. I have 32 GB of memory in my desktop, so that shouldn't be a problem. You are correct about it not mattering where the flight plan came from, however after several tests, I have noted that the only time the program doesn't freeze is when there is a direct approach to a pre-selected ILS runway. I had normally been doing those types of landings because they are easier, but recently I've been wanting to practice SIDs and STARs and that's when the program freezes. I have no idea why that would cause a problem. But as I said after about 20 test flights, the program never freezes when direct approach is used, but did freeze every time anything other than a direct approach was used. Thanks, Dave Majchrzak
July 5, 20223 yr Commercial Member Are you running the latest Beta version? If so, you can email the P2A log file to me and I'll see if there is some sort of error causing a freeze. P2A Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab. A new one is created each time you start Pilot2ATC, and is closed when you shut it down. So if you take the most recent one after you have the error and after you shut down P2A, you should have the correct one. Dave
