Scenery Library not loading all

Featured Replies

In MSFS2020.  Loaded Scenery Library.  After completion the map doesn't shows only airports which are addons (Yellow Ring).  None of the other airports are displayed, along with a lot of the other items.

After completion of download data shows 12,169 airports.  I click OK, the open it again and it shows only 351 airports which is confirmed by looking at the map.  Also missing are a lot of Waypoints and other items.

How do I fix this.  If I right click on say, KORD would be, the departure item is greyed out.  Same with other airports.

Go to LNM menu -> View -> Reset Display settings in case you changed airport display options in menu View -> Airports.

12169 airports are not enough. Normally for MSFS you should see around 37000 airports. Check LNM options on page "Scenery Library Database" if nothing is excluded there.
Then click "Reset Paths" in load scenery library database dialog just in case something is wrong there.
Also: Do you use a scenery organizer tool? This might affect the number of airports too.

It says I have 12169 Airports when first loaded, then going back it shows only 351 which appears to be all I have.  There are no exclusions in the Scenery Library Database.  I couldn't find "Reset Paths" but I did "Reset all Settings" and still the same thing.   No, I'm not using a scenery organizer.

Couple of things I will mention that may give you some insight.  When I first start LNM I get an error message. "Error downloading or reading wind data"  Don't know if this means anything or not. I just click OK and keep going.

The other thing is, I recently reinstalled the sim on an external drive because my C:\ drive was about full.  The Path for it, as shown in the "Load Scenery Library" is F:\MSFS.  This includes the sub-directories, Community and Official\OneStore.  I'm wondering since my addon scenery is showing up (it's in the Community Folder), that maybe it's missing all the other information that may be stored somewhere else.  I'm no expert, just trying to think of what may be causing it.

Hope this helps.  Thank you for your assistance,

Roy

Thank you for the detailed reply, Roy.

The wind download error is unrelated to this. The NOAA weather service had an outage recently.

You load the scenery library database from LNM menu -> Scenery Library -> Load Scenery Library. This opens a dialog window with the "Reset Paths" button on the right.
Click the reset and reload the thing. I suspect LNM is still "confused" by remains of the previous installation in the other path.

Putting the simulator on an external file or on another drive than C:\  is normally no problem.

If all else fails you can start LNM, reload the scenery library, quit LNM and then send me the log file C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\abarthel-little_navmap.log

Looked up C:\Users\rwarr\AppData\Local\Temp\abarthel-little_navmap.log  and it does not appear in the Temp file.  I did a search for "abarthel-little_navmap.log" for the whole computer and it didn't find anything.

I don't understand why when it does the Scenery Load it says it downloaded 12,169 airports and then when go back there again it says only 351.  It must have found them.

Here's the other items with what's found on the left and what it says later on the right

Filed  1737/1737, VOR 4820/4820, ILS 4185/4174, NDB 5701/5474, Markers 3545/3489, Waypoints 269,718/243,744, Airspaces 39,864/39,864.

Don't know if this will help anything, but I want you to have all the information I can give you.

You can also use LNM menu -> "Tools" -> "Files and Directories" -> "Open log file". This will open the file in a default text editor where you can copy it or save it to another place.

The difference is normal since first LNM shows what number of airports was found while loading. After loading comes de-duplication, add-on airports replacing stock and more processes. So the number in the library will be always lower than the number found. This is normal.

What's not normal is the low number of airports. Is MSFS showing all airports which are missing in LNM?

The other numbers in your scenery library look ok. This is what I see here in my test installation with a bunch of add-on airports:

Files:

    3.353

 VOR:

    4.822

 Markers:

    0

Airports:

    40.286

 ILS:

    4.420

 Waypoints:

    244.090

 NDB:

    5.434

 Airspaces:

    39.969

And another thing comes into my mind: Did you enable "Use Navigraph for all" in the menu "Scenery library" accidentally? Are runways all filled white?

emailed you the log file.  Only runways I see are the ones from downloaded scenery.  They are dark grey.  Other airport just show the violet colored outline.

I suspected Navgraph after reading some of the other post with similar problems.

I signed up for Navagraph about a month ago and after about a week I cancelled it.  I uninstalled the program, but today I discovered a lot of left over stuff still on my computer.  Went to Control Panel and uninstalled three more Navigraph items.  Checked Explorer and everything Navagraph is now gone.  Tried LNM again but no difference.

Thank you for the log file. I cannot see which LNM version you're using since it is truncated. Which one do you use?

I see tons of errors reading the scenery library files. The only explanation for this is could be broken BGL files or an outdated LNM since Asobo adds changes from time to time which require adaptions in LNM too.

Latest is 2.6.19: https://albar965.github.io/release/2022/06/15/littlenavmap-stable-2619-released.html

My Bad.  I'm using 2.6.6.  I had downloaded 2.6.19, so I had both in my files.  I always thought that 2.6.6 would be later than 2.6.19, because 6 is greater than the 1 in 19. I was reading it like 1.9. Learn something new every day.

Will uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.

Thank you Alex.  Uninstalled 2.6.6 and installed 2.6.19.

I now have 40,153 airports.  Sorry to have caused you so much trouble.

Hi Roy,

no problem. Glad it's working now.

Always get the latest LNM, especially if you use it with MSFS.
Asobo has a few surprises for me from time to time with their updates which require an update in LNM as well to avoid crashes or other issues.
