September 19, 20223 yr Just gets more amazing! The lighting is the USP with XP-12, with the haze/visibility effects superb also. My only criticism of XP-12 so far is the lack of shadows to ground features. If shadows were added, the realism in XP-12 will be off the charts for me. A short video to show just how beautiful this simulator can be. September 19, 20223 yr Is that an edited real word video, with overlay of the X-Plane bar at the top and the fps display at the top left? 😁 Watch my YT-channel: https://www.youtube.com/@flyingcarpet1340/ Customer of X-Plane, Aerofly, Flightgear, MSFS.

In that video I flew from the south of the UK to Scotland. I started in blue skies with warm ground textures and clear air with great visibility. The air didn't just look clear, it 'felt' warm and clear. Over the Yorkshire dales in the video, the atmosphere didn't just look cloudy with lower visibility, it 'felt' oppressive. Maybe someone else could explain my words better if you feel the lighting engine is doing something 'unseen' to give me these impressions. I live exactly here in the Dales and I can assure you oppressive does not come into it! It's downright oppressive! Nice on a sunny day though. BTW do not go onto Ilkley Moor without a hat. Jus' sayin'.
