Absolutely it is a consideration but I would suggest first checking for a possible interference issue (key assignments or even axes), and proper calibration of the yoke. If peripherals (yoke, rudder, tiller, etc) are not set correctly, a worn potentiometer will lead to something like that. If everything is good regarding calibration, dead zones will alleviate the problem. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

In the user manual pg 47 is the calibration section. Then in the MSFS calibration menu, you can assign whatever dead zone you find appropriate to prevent those spikes. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
