October 14, 20223 yr So what are the experiences and opinions on VR in SU11 Beta? There are a ton of possible combinations of HAGS/Nvidia driver/DX11/DX12/LOD settings/Supersampling settings/Render Scale/DLAA - DLSS - TAA FSR2 etc and I use the OpenXR Toolkit also. For me the new FSR2 doesn't work: it produces a ghosting effect, and that only in my right lens, so it is terrible looking with 2 eyes... Other combinations produce all different results, all with own advantages and disadvantages. In general I have yet to find an optimal setting to prevent stuttering when panning my head and looking outside, esp. so in dense areas with photogrammetry and big airports. It is buttery smooth in small airfields in Alaska, but also for instance ORBX Southampon is very good with minimal stutters. Als in general DX12 is now as good as DX11 and better even in some scenarios. Power consumption: even with power mode low in the experimental setting my GPU gets hot. Toolbar windows work good. I am not sure anymore about GPU usage percentage: how to measure it. Taskmanager shows different numbers than MSI Afterburner for instance. This way I do not know what the spare overhead of my GPU is. In case of stuttering it seems that my GPU usage AND CPU usage at the same time both are not maxed out.... why? What is waiting for what? I feel like Asobo could still optimize this. Instead of me investing in a 4090 and a powerhouse powersupply and bigger case etc. (and airconditioning to cool my gaming room in the summer!!) October 14, 20223 yr same ol'e same for me. No improvements but nothing worse either. DX11 still better than 12. Using both the prior and latest Nvidia driver Edited October 14, 20223 yr by dogmanbird
