Web api not starting automatically?

Featured Replies

I am experimenting with my Stream Deck XL and I noticed that the Web Api doesn't start unless I click Tools>Port Settings for Web> Apply every time after starting the app as administrator.

I was investigating this after I couldn't connect to MSFS2020 from my Stream Deck and did a "netstat -an" command to see if the program was listening on port 9080. Nothing there unless I do the above action.

I can't imagine this is by design. Version of program 2.60.b20 - MSFS.

Thank you for your attention and program!

Sounds weird. It is not like that for me. The WebAPI is always there, I don't have to do anything extra. I have to assume that this is the case for most people, there have been no support requests about this.

The WebAPI starts automatically when
- the WebAPI is enabled in the Tools-Menu
and
- AAO is connected to the sim
or
- AAO is being run in "Offline mode".

(=the checkmark must be there in Tools->Enable WebAPI on port... and either the green or the red LED at the top must be on)

Sounds more like something else is interfering. Maybe change the port just to be safe?

Thank you, it is now like you described. I don't know what went wrong.

But it is also what I described when the sim is not running 😉
