November 9, 20223 yr Windows7 Home 64-bit Mostly Saitek Hardware: Yoke, Throttle, Pedals, Sw. Panel, Radio Stack, Auto Pilot Panel, Custom GPS Panel based on L. Bodnar BBI-32 Board. FSUIPC4 I recently installed Linda to assist in configuring the Bodnar board as a FSX Default GPS 500 button panel. I have FSUIPC set up to use Alpha naming of all my control hardware devices. All the aircraft are organized to use "Profiles" and the profiles are stored in a separate "profile" file. Some buttons on the Yoke and throttle are defined within FSUIPC. I plan to use LINDA to define 10 buttons and 2 rotary encoders on the new custom GPS hardware panel. The first day I tested it I started by running FSX and loading the standard Baron 58 aircraft at my local airport. Two LINDA messages displayed in red text just after the saved flight loaded indicated that it had succeded in starting. I started the LINDA application and the first thing I did was click on the setup and made the recommended settings. I next went to the top box on the Summary page and clicked on the *FSX Default selection and was presented with the standard aircraft in my setup. I scrolled down and selected the Baron 58. As it was late in the evening I decided to end my wok at that point and shut things down. NOW THE PROBLEM ARISES: Today I decided to pick up where I left off. Everything seemed to go normally but now when I start LINDA no aircraft are displayed in the drop down box on the summaries page. In addition in the left column status area under "FSX/FSUIPC" header there is an error in red text on the order of "No simulator found" or something similar (sorry I am working from memory on this error report.) The green text "Everything is OK" is not displayed. I am quite certain the application files are in the correct locations as are the FSX files because nothing has ever changed since that first setup which appeared to work. Additionally LINDA appears to continue to load when FSX starts. Some sort of direction here would be appreciated.
November 10, 20223 yr Looks like you might have already posted to the FSUIPC forum on Simflight. That's probably your best source, other than the Linda forum here on AVSIM.
November 10, 20223 yr Author Yes I have posted to Simflight because help from this site has been sparse and now I am left to "grasp at straws." I haven't seen any significant forum replies here regarding LINDA that are dated within the last 5 years. I may be missing something but numerous "Search" box queries have resulted in nil and the YouTube clips have been none too rich in information. I completely disagree that this should not be posted here because the negative results I'm getting are 100% within the LINDA application as a careful reading of my post will reveal. Of course I am trying to use LINDA to supplant the need to learn LUA programming which I am entirely capable of doing but for a one-time effort it just seemed more expedient to use LINDA and not bother learning another programming system which I will promptly scrub from my memory once I'm done using it. As I remarked to Mr. Dowson, I have already scrubbed from my brain Fortran IV, LISP, Cobol, Pascal, SnowBol and various other assembly and macro languages since 1967. Regarding posting on Simflight, Mr. Dowson has been very helpful giving me insights on technical relationships and the like. In the meantime I don't believe Mr. Dowson has ever represented to me that he has expertise in the LINDA application and I wouldn't expect him to.
November 10, 20223 yr Author The specific error I am getting in red text to the left of the Summary page is: "- Flt Sim or FSUIPC not running" "- Check FSUIPC Version" I believe I downloaded the correct version of LINDA to work with my FSUIPC release but just for review my registered version of FSUIPC is 4.947 The latest version of LINDA that appears in the "Updates" box on the Summary page is 3.1.1 // 15 Feb 2020
