  1. airernie's post in FSX cracks/cuts in the screen was marked as the answer
    Following up on Bert's post:

Try ForceWindowedVsync=1 in [Graphics] section of your fsx.cfg file.

If that doesn't do it and you're running Windows 7 then you'll need to also restart Aero.

One way is with SIMstarter NG, approx $15 USD or you can create a batch (*.bat) file containing the following and run it after FSX starts.

    net stop uxsms
    net start uxsms

Eyepoint Reset; Ctrl+Space.  Happens frequently to me.
  3. airernie's post in Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and Airbus X was marked as the answer
    NO.

You will either need rudder pedals or set the autorudder variable on in setup and let the simulator manage it for you.
  4. airernie's post in Really odd problem with parking brake was marked as the answer
Okay, I guess getting the problem in writing helped.

A few hours more testing and it appears the problem lies in the iFly 737NG 'Cold and Dark' panel.  I'm not sure if that is the case with other 737NG installations, but it sure is with mine.

So, thanks for allowing me the space to think out loud, but consider the what resolved.  The why?  That's for another day. :-)

  5. airernie's post in FS9>FSX was marked as the answer
IMHO, although your system can support FSX, I think that you may be disappointed with the performance.  You're going to be running everything towards the low end.

As for the iFly 737, or any frame heavy aircraft you can pretty much forget it.

If you are currently using FS9, then I would recommend staying with FS9.

Of course, you can always try a dual-install and make the decision yourself.  At least for the short-term you have enough space on your hard drive to give it a try.
  6. airernie's post in [SOLVED] Ability to restore on close was marked as the answer
It looks like I may have been wrong in my assumptions and that it may already be working correctly.

After some investigation it appeared that the digisplash.bmp file in the FSX\Uires directory had gotten overwritten by the SIMstarter_Set2-1.bmp file.

Therefore when I was starting FSX using the FSX icon, rather than SIMstarter I was seeing an incorrect splashscreen, which led me to a wrong assumption.

Thanks for your hardwork.  SIMstarter is among my top goto FSX apps.

  7. airernie's post in Nvidia Inspector in windowed mode. was marked as the answer
I run in windowed mode on Windows 7 Pro, using Nvidia Inspector.

I have the NI frame rate set at 30, and unlimited within FSX and imy frames stay pretty close to 30, with the occasional drop for intense scenery, etc.
