Gliders - can we get the flight plan visible on the screen?

Featured Replies

I can't figure out a way to get the flightpath visible when entering a departure and destination on the flight planner.

Once in the glider, I can select a destination on the screen, but only if it's 50 nm (or km? I forget) or less away. My destination is further.

Is there a way to show this?

thanks

Same here.   And I have oldish eyes.

Try the DG-808S

You can click on that display and change / rearrange the data fields,   including a wind direction indicator,  or heading up / north up view.

And it has flaps.

Thanks - how do you set up tasks? That's the main thing I'd like to do...

Sorry,   I'm not sure.    I downloaded that flight plan from the Sim Soaring Club,   and the tasks were already setup.

Ah! Thanks. There's currently a mini-debate about whether there should be a dedicated soaring forum (there should...).

I think I'll visit the Sim Soaring Club forum & ask there.... cheers.

SSC posts a new .pln and .wpr every week for their saturday events.    They use the preset and sync loading at the same moment so they all have the same exact weather the entire time.    They really have some great flights / flight plans.   They also compete,  using Touching Cloud's "Kinetic Assistant" for tracking and timing.Insert image from URL

EDIT:

Got Gravel also has a soaring subforum,  https://discord.com/channels/793376245915189268/1019926132826579005

Typically they are Tuesday and Friday,   while SSC is always 17:00z Saturday.

I think I found out how they do it,   I think they use this web interface and then hit download MSFS  flight plan.  "B21 Task Planner v2.22"

Yup, just looking at that. I just asked (in discord)  if there's a way to directly convert Condor tasks. Condor uses its own coordinate system for some reason, though there is a converter that works for coordinates. Would be nice to directly import, though.
