Slow and unresponsive Interface

Featured Replies

Hi

I am using the latest beta (8R4) on Windows 10 (or 11) and am having an intermittent problem with a slow and unresponsive interface which seems to happen when I select Center on Aircraft.  Once I click on Center on Aircraft, the map continues to move and I continue to receive ATC message, but the rest of the interface seems to freeze and become very slow to respond.  It can take several minutes to respond to a click on any of the buttons.

I am currently running Pilot2ATC on a remote machine to my sim machine, however it doesn't seem to matter whether I run it remotely or not, the problem occurs either way.

This isn't a new problem, it has been happening for a long time with several different version of the program.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Adam

Center on Aircraft not only moves the map to center it on the aircraft when you press it, but it keeps moving the map each time your aircraft position changes.  This is a resource killer.  I would recommend you only use the Center on Aircraft button to initially center and then click it again to let the aircraft move on the map.

You could also try different zoom levels to see if it makes a difference.

Thank you for your quick response.  I guess I'll have to adapt to a new way of managing my map.  I am curious as to why it works perfectly fine some times, and not others.  Hopefully these performance issues can be addressed in a future release.
