November 19, 20223 yr When I start up the g1000 I have a "Busses Tied" warning message on the PFD. What does this mean? How do I clear it? Thanks, Mike
November 23, 20223 yr Mike, You don't state the A/c you are flying but in general, most Twins ,or Singles with two generator systems, the left & right electrical busses are kept separate in normal operations. The reason for this is in the case of a failure of the generator on one side (Left), it wont take out the other side with it. On the ground both busses are normally tied if on gnd power or during engine start to power both sides of the electrical busses. After engine start, they are isolated either automatically or by the flight crew. This also applies to twin jets as well. Kev
November 23, 20223 yr Author Thanks, this was in the Bonanza G36 but also was in the C172 G1000. Probably does not have anything to do with "Busses Tied", I lost my G1000 screens sometime into the flight. I disabled my Honeycomb Alpha control for start and flew the C172 for about an hour, no "Busses Tied" message and screens stayed on. This was based on another message that I read about this issue. Even though the magneto was back on both on my hardware, the simulator still thought it was on start.
