PMDG 737 MSFS2020 Audio Bug

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I have purchased the 737-700 and 737-800 for MSFS2020, and it's been amazing overall.

However, I'm facing a serious audio problem. In both airplanes, when I disconnect an audio device (which I have to do often, unfortunately) used by the simulator mid - flight, the sound coming from the aircraft gets muted completely. All sound effects coming from the simulator (menu sound effects, ambience, etc.) continue to work just fine from the other audio device I have.

I have tried switching back and forth, reconnecting the device, changing default audio output device on both the sim and Windows 10, to no avail.

I would really appreciate some help on the issue 🙂

Hello,

I was having a problem with my sound also and I was told to do a total uninstall and reinstall… I am not sure which version you’re using but here are the instructions for the steam version. Please, follow the steps one by one in that order. After doing this, my issue was resolved. I hope it works for you.

Try a clean reinstall

1. Remove any installed liveries for the 737 from the Operations Center

2. Uninstall the 737 from add/remove programs.

3. Go too {SIM}\Community and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-737 folder. If there is delete it.

3. Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-737  folder if there is delete it

3.Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes and delete any PMDG 737-XXXXX folders if they exist

4. Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-737  folder if there is delete it.

5.Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages and delete the PMDG-aircraft-737 directory

6. Install again making sure you run the installer as administrator. Right click and select run as administrator.

7. Rebbot the PC after the installation
