December 10, 20223 yr Hello, my 1.5 installation hangs on the VC_redist64.exe file. Is there a work around? John Edited December 10, 20223 yr by jzimmerman12
December 10, 20223 yr Author Hello, again, I fixed this problem by uninstalling all of my C++ 2015-2022 installations, rebooting, and reinstalling. John
December 10, 20223 yr Commercial Member Interesting. Did you get an S1023 (or similar) error message?
December 10, 20223 yr Author Nope, no strange message like that. The installation would simply freeze while installing the VC_redist64.exe. John
December 10, 20223 yr Commercial Member Knowing how the vc_redist installations in general work (they install alongside earlier versions and don't install if the most current version is the same as the installation routine is delivering), I think we probably have another Norton wobbly. It took Stefan and myself almost 3.5 hours to figure out what Norton was doing and how to get around it. It meant multiple rewrites of the installer as well as endless tests to see what it was going to kill this off 'this time'. Failed installations meant manually cleaning the registry, deleting temporary files, etc., etc.. You get the picture. When I got the refusal to install the font from the B314-A package after it had finally allowed the B-314 package to install it, I was pretty sure we hadn't seen the last of its stupidity. I have never had so much trouble with an internet security package from any other software house.
