Does DX10 preview do something to cfg.?

I don't know if any have experienced this, but I wanted to try DX10 preview ahead of maybe ordering Steve's DX10 fixer. Now previously I ran in DX9 with everything maxed and even running an A2A aircraft and it held solid and locked at 60fps. After switching back to DX9 it's all stuttery now and I haven't changed anything in Nvida inspector or the sim. Kind of frustrating because it ran so well before the preview. Any tips or ideas appreciated!
