Effects and AAU1 - Am I missing something?

Featured Replies

As the title says, with the gotfriends mod there were finally great splash and wake effects for the DHC2. They seem to be gone after the AAU1 beta update. Or is there a mistake on my end?

SOLVED: The snow coverage setting was the reason for not seeing the effects any longer. Beyond a certain threshold it seems to make the water a hard surface.

Where is this snow coverage setting you speak of ?

In the weather settings. Unless you use Live weather, you can adjust it. Certain presets come with a snow coverage of 100%, e.g. WPP Arctic Chill which I personally like. However, even if a water surface is not shown as frozen it still seems to be handled as if it was, thus no splash or wake effects. Moving the snow coverage slider below 35% changes that and still shows quite a nice white blanket on the ground.
