Fans Revving Constantly

Featured Replies

This is something that didn't happen as much with the default bios, I can't use that one as I'd be stuck with the base clock on my 5800x3d.  Anything I can do to keep the fans from doing this constantly when at idle or when just web browsing?  CPU and GPU temps are fine.  I run a 240mm AIO cooler.  No idea what triggers it.  Obviously I expect louder fans when gaming but they shouldn't be running this much when not doing anything.  Unless my 4090 is producing so much heat it's causing it.

If your 240mm AIO cooler is anything like my Gigabyte one, the fan and pump is actually controlled via USB, not by a motherboard fan header, so you need to install and configure the control software for your cooler. In my case, I had to install the Aorus Engine software and enable it to load on windows boot. I also configured custom fan and pump curves so that my system is pretty much silent up until 50C then it starts to rev up. Without using Aorus Engine software, my cooler was behaving opposite in that it would stay at low revs for fan and pump no matter what the load was, so things got a little toasty until I installed it.

Default bios should still allow 5800x3d to hit boost frequency? As for the fans, you should look at creating custom tan curves in the bios or using the software from your motherboard manufacturer

For some reason it didn’t. Always showed running at the lower speed.

I’ll take a look at that thanks
