December 16, 20223 yr Hi Lorby, i use your software ( MSFS2020 ver.2.80) and at the moment when AAO starts, it diconnect and reconnect 2 of 5 USB controllers several times. The " nice " WINDOWS sound is played. I tried several USB ports at PC, install then a ext. powered USB hub. Nothing changed that behaviour. The same was with ver. 2,70. WIN 10 in use and all power savings for USB are disabled in Windows. What is crazy is that AAO was working fine a few days ago (2.70). If i start windows only , all USB controllers are present and never disconnecting by themselves. At least if have no idea now..... Is there any kind of logfile what can help to isolate this fault? Kind Regards Arnim

Kind Regards Arnim Are you sure that controllers are disconnected? If you are, which ones? Or is it just playing the sound? There is always a USB sound when the DirectX library is initialized in AAO, you may hear that twice, about two seconds apart. Plus there is another USB sound when the HID devices are scanned for SaitekPanels. That seems to be inherent to the libraries that are being used here, but I never saw any controller being actually disconnected. I have had trouble with MSFS since the beginning. When I start AAO while MSFS is already running, the sim freezes for several minutes and plays the Windows USB sounds multiple times. Sometimes MSFS decides to crash altogether. I always have to start AAO first, then the sim, otherwise I'm in trouble. And it is not only AAO. The same happens in MSFS when I start the Elgato StreamDeck software while the sim is already running (sim freezes, USB sounds play, sim may recover or crash) Quote What is crazy is that AAO was working fine a few days ago (2.70). OK, so what changed on your computer? Edited December 16, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
December 16, 20223 yr Yes, start AAO before MSFS. In addition, after I turn on my USB devices, I reboot my computer before starting AAO and MSFS. This restart ensures the ALL the USB devices (in my case 9 total) are detected by the OS before anything else tries to access them. So, which ones of your controllers are being disconnected, where do you see that? I have never heard anything like that before, and I am at a loss about what to tell you. I believe my disconnection or "not showing up" issues are more related to my motherboard and OS issues, not AAO communicating with MSFS. Regards program starting order, I start all my ancillary sim applications before starting MSFS and let them automatically connect. Not sure about the OP. OK - so what was your question again regarding AAO? I am a bit lost here as to what this is about. Btw. when I start MSFS, whithout AAO or anything else, I also get the USB sound several times. But nothing is actually disconnected, there are just the sounds. Edited December 16, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
December 16, 20223 yr 🙂 I don't have a question. Was trying to offer advice to the OP. Oliver, thanks for all you do. I have several of your payware products. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

December 16, 20223 yr Author Thank you for your quick reply..... The disconnected controllers (CH rudder and TPM throttle modul) not only playing this sound, there are really not usable in AAO. Under " Hardware" they are to find in red under " ignored device". But i followed your recommendation and start now AAO first, that helps a lot 😉 Now it works fine as before! But in the past i had have always autostart enabled, starting FS and AAO starts then automatically without problems. But what did i change on my computer? Only win10 updates and a new AMD graphics driver , nothing else.... Thanks again for your support....and its a very nice piece of software what you programmed... Cheers Arnim

In my collection I have a CH yoke (refactured into a side stick) and a Saitek TPM module. Never had any issues with them. LORBY-SI

Then these "disconnect sounds" are unrelated. What you describe is an indication that an error is happening in AAO when it tries to access these devices for the first time. That is why they are red - AAO wants to talk to them, but they refuse. Did the driver change? Did you install any other software? ...or maybe MSFS is blocking them? Double check that there are no assignments in the sim itself. MSFS sometimes does that automatically. This hasn't been a problem in the past, but you never know. December 19, 20223 yr Author Hi, i double checked FS2020, all assignments are removed... What you describe is an indication that an error is happening in AAO when it tries to access these devices for the first time. That is why they are red No driver change or other software change done. Except win 10 updates.... Boot sequence ( AAO first, then FS2020) solved the issue at the moment for me. Thank you....

I may be the only one, but I had tons of trouble when my computer installed the Windows 11 22H2 update. I couldn’t make some of my USB devices work at all. I rolled back the update, and everything started working again. Something to try if you’re stuck.
