PMDG 737 Navigation Display showing wrong ALT difference

Recommended Posts

Very interesting find. I don't have that vPilot software installed and I don't see that issue on my PC. Could it be something related to that software?
Also, something to be mentioned here about the PMDG TCAS. It is an old version that doesn't have "TCAS Airspace Selector" meaning to select ABV (showing 2700 ft blw and up to 7000 ft abv), or N (showing 2700 ft blw/abv) or BLW (showing 7000 ft blw and 2700 abv). So technically what they have is just a N (normal) function and the alt separation should be set 27000 ft not 2800 ft.

In cruise, all other traffic ever got shown correctly (+10, -30, +40 etc) except when other traffic had not set STD Altimeter, then it showed +12, -27, +41 etc

If that's happening, it's a bug. The transponder always reports pressure altitude (aka flight level), regardless of what the altimeter setting is. As TCAS is based on the altitude reported by the transponder, it should also be unaffected by the other aircraft's altimeter setting.
