I thought this wasn't possible

This is not a rant post. This is quite the opposite!
This is a "happy post". 🙂

So, just experienced a VR nirvana in XP11. 72fps native, no frame reprojection.

It was surreal because I thought it's impossible, and yet, I flew at pure 72fps with Toliss A319 + Ortho + X-Europe + Traffic Global + SS 1.2 (probably could go over 1.3). Was testing Quest 2 resolutions in XP11, and opened the sim with the 45hz + ASW set in OVR Settings, as usual. Decided to disable frame reprojection in OVR, and saw that fps was locked at 72. I was amazed. Tested one short flight, and fps stayed the same.

I mean I thought this was possible only in Aerofly FS 2, which, to be honest, has a pretty sparse autogen, no AI, simple aircraft systems, no complex weather. I AM AMAZED.
This is a whole new ballgame now.

12900k (no OC) + Zotac RTX 3090 (no OC) + DDR4 OCed to 3200mhz.

Next is XP12 to achieve the same. 🙂
I mean, I don't have any issues if XP12 works at 45fps + ASW (in my case 36fps + ASW), but again, 72fps native feels way more smoother and natural, especially when headtracking is in question.

Can't wait to start my career in A Pilot's Life v2, got the job in Transavia. 💪

Cheers all!

What rendering engine did you use in XP11? (vulkan or opengl). Sadly XP12 has a long way to go in terms of performance, especially for AMD users.

Setup: RX6800 | 5800X3D + B450 | 32GB 3200MHz | X-Plane 12

Pozdrav komsija. 🙂

I used Vulkan, as 3090 has 24gb of VRAM, there is no fear for me anymore that XP11 will crash due to out of memory errors. I had that issue with 1080ti, so I had to use OpenGL, that introduced some other issues.
I had pretty good VR performance in XP12 RC even with 1080ti, although I didn't have X-WORLD activated over ortho scenery, so fps was higher than usual. I believe I can fly at least with 36fps + ASW in XP12 in all situations with 3090, but I'm still waiting for all plugins to be fully compatible.
