January 11, 20233 yr I recently had a crash due to a corrupted Windows registry and it has been suggested that I should post this as it may help others. As a result, I had to re-install P3d V5.3 and most of my ancillary programs, including Radar Contact. I got my basic Flight sim up and going quite quickly but RC presented a problem. Although the program ran, it did nothing, wouldn't connect to P3D and the key pushes did nothing. The solutions (at least for me). change the key presses and see if it works. if not, do not load anything else with P3D, try RC4 then and see if it works. If not change the key settings again. Remember that if you re-install P3D, the key bindings will reset so go through each one in P3D options and delete them if they could conflict. At this stage I got RC4 to work. Although it still had problems with navigation. Update FSUIPC and Makerwys and run them once or twice. This fixed the Nav. problems. Gradually add back each program, (Active sky, Chase plane etc.) checking that RC4 still works. I suspect but cannot prove it, that Chase Plane was the main culprit as removing this immediately let RC4 work. I re-installed it, removing all previous presets and it is now working perfectly. So, main lesson, something will always conflict after a re-install, just isolate what it is and fix it. (Says he, smirking). Hope this helps someone. (It is 4 days of wisdom!). January 31, 20233 yr Author All the above may help to get the program to not conflict. I forgot that with PMDG (747 at least, not sure about others), you need to activate the pushbutton radio switches in the radio stack, so that the little green light appears. Then RC will work.
