Answering my own question. The FSDT forum has everyone complaining that the latest release doesn't work. So, we wait patiently (or not so patiently) for a fix.

Had a disk crash but restored everything and updated GSX. BUT now GSX doesn't work at all, it crashes as soon as P3D loads up the airport and plane. Anyone have any update on what is happening?

That really is a fatuous statement! Fault found Thursday. Reported. Friday, complaint received. Answer by Monday. Good service in my opinion. What company works Saturdays and Sundays? Hardly any.

Would you mind elaborating. (I don't have any major problems, especially with Nvidia).

Being fixed bit by bit. This morning the operators are back but no logos show. Thanks for the repair.

Well, I have just loaded P3D after doing an update and GSX is working, "almost" properly. He seems to have patched it by removing the choice of Operator. Catering just turns up in a generic van, stairs move into place with no logos. Passengers load. That's as far as I have gone so far. Edit. Just completed pushback. That all seems fine. Not doing a flight today, so I hope landing is also 'fixed'.

Even with mine (1080, 8gb), I can fly into Miami with autogen on Medium, sparse and sparse. Texture medium and shadows minimised as far as possible.

That sounds extremely sensible. Once and IF it gets going again, I will do the same. I have now posted this on the FSDT forum.

I think there might be more to this than Add-on manager replacement. I have now tried complete Add-on manager replacements from 3 different backups: Feb. Mar. and April of this year. Each one has caused Couatl to crash immediately on P3D loading, whereas before it "only" crashed when the GSX menu was accessed. For the time being, I shall revert to the latest one and just cancel couatl when it asks to restart. Nothing more to do!

Just to add, I did not delete and re-install gsx, I just ran the installer and let it re-install.

I have a problem which I cannot resolve. I experimented with Freemesh global but found it gave the old Dxdiag error, despite my having the registry fixes applied. I deleted it but it seems to have corrupted GSX. I can get the GSX menu to load but once I select an item and the 'choose operator' (or whatever) comes up, it immediately stops with the message "addon (unknown) has caused couatl to stop" (maybe not the exact words). If I tell it to restart, the same thing happens. I re-installed the Graphic driver. No change. It happens at all 3 airports I tried (all with no additional programs running) VHHH,EGCC and FACT. They display automatically once you start Radar Contact. You just shrink the bar and move it where you want. What is PF3?

I suppose instead of "enter, stage right", it would be "Enter, taxiway Y3" (just made that up, don't know the real one!).

"Always make sure that the Parking position and the Stop position match for successful operation of a jetway." Ray, Could you please elaborate on this. I often get problems where the jetways do not work. I also get several airports where there are duplicate jetways, some of which work automatically but at the same airport and gate others work from the GSX menu. (So up to 6 jetways all serving the same gate). I don't remember this happening before.

Win11 is indeed strange. I have W11 on an unsupported PC and my ALT key does exactly what is expected, without the Reg. entry. (Could be the fact that I cannot update without a major "hack").

P3D v4 is too far back for me to remember. I have had nothing like that with V5 and the 747.

Not specifically for STB but I use AIG.

Getting a bit confused here. Do you mean the Menu bar, as stated in the title? That, I have always right clicked to remove but now having read this I find that Alt (held down briefly) does remove it and re- apply it. The title bar stays, there seems to be no menu item to remove it, only applying Full screen or Lossless.

How very odd! Just shows that what works for one, may not work for all. On my system running W11 25H2, and P3D 5.4, I have a second monitor for maps, Super Traffic Board and SmartCars. All the other programs (CP, AS etc.) are minimised on the main screen and do not interfere but are readily available if needed.

Can't get anything on YT. All looks like stills. Local TV has no coverage at all. Very disappointing. Don't have Netflix.

That brings back memories. We didn't have TV in South Africa back then (can you believe that) and I remember listening on the radio as the details unfolded. We were all very scared that the mission might return with some horrible disease.

That is quite interesting. As I don't have MS Office, I wondered where my data was held. I discovered that Access has been installed without my even being aware of it. Must be part of P3D.
