Anyone else having GSX problems again? Today I started up in CYVR to test something and GSX gave the message that couatl had encountered an unrecoverable error and I should run Live Update. I did that and on restarting, exactly the same thing happened. I looked on FSDT forum but nothing has been reported yet.

I wonder, is it just me ?

NB My backup worked perfectly and all is well.

Oh great!

I quit using GSX years ago as it just caused lots of problems.

It uses these strangely named programs to hack the sim in order to make the pretty ground operation animations and scenery, and it doesn't always play nice.

You’re not specific about the problems you’ve had. I’ve had GSX L2 for years and whilst there have been issues virtuali has always resolved them. Given we’ve had years of free enhancements I don’t know how anyone can complain.

It integrates perfectly with the most sophisticated of aircraft - Concorde. I hold back from running the latest updates until issues have been fixed.

I also make a backup of the entire AddonManager folder before updating so I can revert if necessary.

To be fair, that's no different than any other add-on, no?

I'm with Ray - it's a great package, but the quality control on new releases, especially for non-MSFS is woefully lacking.

I can't even remember all the problems. It's been at least 5 years since I used it.

I do remember it caused the sim to crash a number of times. When I disabled GSX, the sim didn't crash. I'm sure there was a fix if I'd reported it, but I just didn't think it was worth the hassle. I liked it, but it didn't improve the realism that much for me.

I use a freeware pushback/taxi app by Rob Barendregt with sounds and some interaction with ground crew which is good enough for me. I know that GSX does more than that, but I really don't care about watching passengers board the plane.

Whilst some are reporting issues not all are and any should have been reported on the official forum. I’m two updates behind as everything I need works.

You’ve paid for it. Give it another shot. The default pushback is grim.
