As I have never been to Manchester, I would have no idea if it was up to date, or not. That goes for just about 99.9% of the world also. Does it matter? not in the least.

I landed today at Manila RPLL. Strangest airport ever. (According to P3D) runway is fine but it is lined with Office buildings and flats. You have to drive through buildings, literally through them, to get to the airport terminal. This is the standard P3D airport no tweaks applied. Anyone confirm this is not some weird glitch on my PC? Ian

Must be. I installed it without defender running and Malwarebytes didn't complain. Had it going for 2 days without problems.

Ken, I only asked because in the PMDG 747, which I have, you have to "switch on" the radio before RC can be contacted. Could it be something like that?

I would reduce them a notch.......otherwise you may personally have a CTD -
My last word. On MY system I now can confirm that 5.4 decreases the overall vRam from 7.1 to 6.9 BUT at KLAX (FSDT) with AI planes aplenty and PMDG 747, the ground AI traffic moves much more smoothly and my HIGH settings (nearly all to the right, instead of mid way) are pushing vRam to only 6.3. Previously this would have been perilously close to a CTD.

On my system, I still have an enormous drop (down to 2 to 3 FPS) when approaching a very complex airport or surrounding scenery. Can't really say it runs smoother. If it does, then my old eyes can't see it.

I did a long flight Dublin to JFK in my PMDG 744 and really didn't notice anything of note. All the ancillary programs seemed to work and the flight was completed with no problems. Maybe the work in the background of 5.4 made things better for the Computer!

Thanks. I have not received any form of notification of an update. Unlike Chaseplane, which told me it wasn't compatible.

Smooth zoom and static cameras are all it tells me will not work when I start P3D. I really don't use those, just need the cockpit views. So, if they work on those, as stated, then all should be good.

I did just that and saw a 1-2 fps improvement, no improvement in Graphics usage figures and no other visible improvements. Probably there is a lot going on behind the scenes. I will see, when I can get a long flight in.

I am sure it was no worse than what I had to endure last year (before all the direct routes were working again). Leave Johannesburg in the early evening, stop at Dubai at 1am, change terminals and leave for Heathrow at 3 am. A 13 hour flight that direct is 8 hours.

Go to Windows settings>>>Apps and scroll down to find Prepar3d v5 Academic (or your version) Client and delete it. DO NOT cancel your registration. Download and install the new version. Client only. That's all. No settings are changed, your sim will have the previous settings as regards Keys, buttons etc. Ian

Agree. I have yet to find time to do a long flight but if it has those qualities, it will be worth it. (Although, to be honest, they don't worry me that much, I have accepted them as part of the package.)
