August 14, 200718 yr For some reason I can't uninstall FSX from my system. I click on Control Panel Add Remove programs and it seems to start the uninstall and just quits.Do I need to use the original FSX DVD to perform an uninstall? Thanks!
August 14, 200718 yr Do you have SP1 installed? Cheers,N. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
August 14, 200718 yr I also have FSX + SP1 and when I try to uninstall FSX it seems happy to oblige. So your problem may not be generic. Many games have problems uninstalling after they are patched. But I don't see how SP1 can be un-installed by itself. It does not appear separately on my list of installed programs. Try installing CCleaner (freeware) and run the issues tool. That will fix most problems with the computer's registry. Then try uninstalling again. http://www.ccleaner.com/If it still won't work then there may be a corrupt file somewhere. And that can be really difficult as your choices are rather limited. The worst case would be you might have to do a clean install of Windows to get rid of the FSX application. Don't try that unless you have to and you know what you are doing.Cheers,N. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
August 14, 200718 yr If you are running XP then check the "Show Updates" box at the top of the Add-Remove Applet Window. SP1 will show as a separate program install. Bob.. Bob Prince
August 16, 200718 yr I have uninstalled SP1, Still it won't let me uninstall FSX.PLEASE HELP!!!!THANKS!
August 16, 200718 yr Had the self same problem - in the end I bit the bullet and deleted the entire FSX folder and defragged - then ran the FSX DVD and chose the 'Repair' option. Nor very clever but when you're stuck it seemed the only way through the problem.

I'd like to investigate the conditions surrounding this phenomenon, if it is indeed wide-spread.
