Takeoff trim question

Featured Replies

Hi all-

There are two green markings on the little trim meter. One horizontal and and a smaller, shorter green one one pointed at about 15 degrees down. Following procedure, gear and flaps up at 100 KIAS, I have to dial in a LOT of down elevator trim to get this thing on a 1900 fpm climb. Is this normal?

Thanks,

Mark

The shorter (or  GREEN DIAMOND as per pilatus) is use for CG aft than 236inch/6m, which is quite hard to determine in the sim. but in your case maybe try that? I have only fly with green line one and works fine every time for me.

Climb rate also depend on thrust, so what's your climb thrust setting? if you just firewall it, the Carenado engine can output a lot more power than rated climb torque.

That small green diamond setting helps, along with a full passenger load and not firewalling it which I think were all a part of this. I will continue and let you know how this all rolls out. Thanks for the help.
