Random "Event 1026 .NET Runtime" lead c0..05 P3Dv5.4 CTD
I feel this have been on me for years (while I have gradually moved to XP12 for main sim anyway) The symptom is about 2~3hour in flight get a CTD and in the event viewer I see a Event 1026 .NET Runtime error like this one: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name=".NET Runtime" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1026</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2026-06-09T10:38:53.3705063Z" /> <EventRecordID>98516</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="6168" ThreadID="0" /> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Umi</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>Application: Prepar3D.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Exception Info: exception code c0000005, exception address 00007FFDED2123D0</Data> </EventData> </Event>And 1 seconds later: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" Guid="{a0e9b465-b939-57d7-b27d-95d8e925ff57}" /> <EventID>1000</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8000000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2026-06-09T10:38:56.1479704Z" /> <EventRecordID>98517</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="4604" ThreadID="20496" /> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Umi</Computer> <Security UserID="S-1-5-21-1507506471-1515142045-11927022-1001" /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="AppName">Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data Name="AppVersion">5.4.9.28482</Data> <Data Name="AppTimeStamp">6463925f</Data> <Data Name="ModuleName">VCRUNTIME140.dll</Data> <Data Name="ModuleVersion">14.44.35211.0</Data> <Data Name="ModuleTimeStamp">0f259d81</Data> <Data Name="ExceptionCode">c0000005</Data> <Data Name="FaultingOffset">00000000000123d0</Data> <Data Name="ProcessId">0x1818</Data> <Data Name="ProcessCreationTime">0x1dcf7ee2026fc8a</Data> <Data Name="AppPath">B:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data Name="ModulePath">C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\VCRUNTIME140.dll</Data> <Data Name="IntegratorReportId">8403ad19-4ac2-4a57-8292-b2689cb23f70</Data> <Data Name="PackageFullName" /> <Data Name="PackageRelativeAppId" /> </EventData> </Event>The .dll name is very random, this time is VCRUNTIME140.dll, but it have been terrain.dll, api.dll, ntdll.dll etc etc....but always 0xc0....05 exception code. I have tried made full reinstallation of P3Dv5 before, still like this, and when I had enough I simply move to XP12.... Last weekend I thought since I not fly P3D that much, I now can uninstall many add-ons anyway, so I did , and give it a test (I still have some aircraft that's exclusive to P3Dv5 so I still want it work). I got a PMDG747 set with some random long 10+hour route, LNAV VNAV in and went to work, and as I went back it still works! I though maybe I got it, so next day I set a 2.5h route with PMDG747 and try properly fly it, and this time, 2 hour in to flight, CTD again. but along with that, I also see 1026 lead c0005 with "ActiveSkyUtils.exe", emmm, that seems suspicious, as the last 10h+ test I didn't have ASP3D running. So I disabled ASP3D in add-on.xml, fly same route again (with FSGRW), this time no problem. I though I got it, and the next day I got another 3h+ flight without issue. And to today, I though it'll be OK, but boom, 1.5h into flight, this again. I tried to see if it's the .net runtime issue but Framework4 is integrated in win11 and I can't upgrade or repair it anyway. While I'm thinking about make another full reinstall again this time add only minimum add-ons, the very nature of randomness makes this issue very hard to verify if it's gone, and I really don't mentally want put too much time in it as... I can always flee to XP anyway...

Boeings Galore - The LevelUP project
NG have new wings compare to 1/2/classics, MAX is same with NG, just different wingtips. Stability augmentation system is surprisingly common in airliners, but sure MCAS on MAX was catactrophicly faulty.

Boeings Galore - The LevelUP project
I so miss a 737-400 Also lacks a -700 with 26A-B2 engine and gaseous pax oxygen system for proper ZULS routes, not to mention BBJ with axu fuel tank and -27 engine. Heck, even the -300 from IXEG only came with -20K, not -22K Engine, totally unflyable in airports like ZPPP Also the ZIBO/LVUP still missing some old-school options like EFIS display config, non-RNAV and non-TO profile FMS, meanwhile IXEG's U4.0 FMS is kinda too old-school to my taste.

Multi screen use
Air manager can be use in network with different computer so might save some GPU use. Also it's data driven, it might be different to the "real" thing, but it'll show things when your main view is not in cockpit, although I think Toliss have fixed that, as long as you are "near" the cockpit (say forward view without cockpit as you are using physical one) the pop-out will refresh fine. The best bet would be ToLiss Display App came with HOME/PRO SIMULATOR Licence, but that's not cheap.

Help on Rudder Pedal purchase
I don't think Thrustmaster have FFB rudder. The cheap end TFRP I recently using is not really good, the rail is not smooth especially under pressure, although it can be improved by apply some damping grease (see: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/581852-improving-your-hotas-setup-with-nyogel-767a-damping-grease/ ) Someone flying helicopter by rotate the TFRP 180 and push his feet against the tip of pedal... didn't try that myself, but with the same energy I fly helos with my throttle set rotated 90 degrees act as a collective... Now I finally upgraded the pedal and I feel worth it, when I try to find the one for upgrade most of my friends online recommended SN-2 (maybe SN-1 if only for helos), however as my desk space is too narrow, the only one can fit in ended up be Turtle Beach V1

FlyJSim is bringing 732 TwinJet to Xplane 12
But it came with UNS-1, so not that needed I guess? Haven't touch CIVA for quiet while since LTN92 added in Felis742, ð

Trying to improve my landings in XP12
My boss asked Boeing to explain how autoland works so it can be use as a flare temple for initial training, and Boeing reply: "no, don't try to imitate autopilot"

RUNNING TRAIN | čĩ°ãŦåčŧïžGAMEPLAY PREVIEW
I know Japan is live in 2000s...since 1980... but don't they have any better "Avionics"?(or whatever it called on a train) I remember back in MSFS days there was a LJK-2000 plugin, which just looks sick, graphical "ND" style moving map with all information. but not a gamefied HUD like Dovetail's one. (although as a plugin it lacks many IRL functions) I now mainly roll on Zusi3, the E-timetable and LZB speed limit display is still one step away from what LJK like

Trying to improve my landings in XP12
https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/271887-stableapproach/ This gives a overview from approach gate (1000' or 500') until roll out, not just a touchdown.

2026 Navigraph Survey Results for P3D
I'm not sure if I still qualify as "actively" using P3D, 2nd last time I fly it, I think it's February, a short haul on PMDG744 and it CTD when cruising, I like fine, mSprak will do it. Last time is 3 weeks ago, Try to get some practice on iFly737MAX before my FFS section. While jump in, FSUIPC unable to recognize my throttle, again... I know I can fix it with a registry clean up and restart, but com'n, I went assign throttle in P3D menu anyway (bye bye reverser). and CTD before pushback....yeah fine, zibo will do it then....

Should I S/C if not scheduled in the F-PLAN?
A fully seated A320/738 is like ~58000kg in my company, with 4~5kKg landing fuel MLDW isn't really a issue
-
Should I S/C if not scheduled in the F-PLAN?
My company generally recommanded requests optimal altitude to ATC whenever you can, even for short haul (the planned altitude filed to ATC might not be optimal to start with), ofc whether ATC will clear you is another problem. Be aware there is wind trade off, if you are in head wind, higher altitude might mean higher head wind so not necessary mean less fuel burn, Morden dispatch software will take account of that, but FMC might not.

FF 300 ER... Should I?
It flies mostly fine, FBW is really responsive and FPS is higher than 757/767 surprisingly Made 4 flights all hard landing because the RA shows +6 when touchdown... hope they would fix that soon. I didn't have data for -200, but for -300ER, cross check with realworld take off performance, the N1 given in FF's FMS is much higher, up to 10% in high ATM. And still, the biggest problem is, like -200, ECL system still a mess, not really suitable for a "training" scenario, despite the advertisement of "over 1000+ failures", that makes me feel it really not worth the price as a good A-B liner (which IMO should be at most 60~70 range.) I got -200 basepack though it would be great but really not, so I didn't bother EE or F, got $30 -300ER upgrade because I have more realworld data on this type, but still... meh, still good one to keep in hanger for line operation every now and then.

Robots win marathons.
To add some context, last year, the first time Beijing marathon allow man and robots on the same course, only 6 out of 20 robots have completed half marathon, and the best result for robot was 2h40m. Most robots DNF because of joints overheat. And this year, 45% of over 100 robots finished, 18 finished team, including all top 3 robot are self-navigate, though city course.

Helis in Xp12 - a report by Mathew Crawford...
I'll try that next weekend, as I'm mostly GPU limited in VR anyway.

Anybody do 3D printing?
I got a cheap resin printer few years ago, tried making 1:200 aircraft and it didn't pan out well...thin trailing edge can't print properly and have to be done manually. I don't know if technology get better now (or with more budget), or it's my skill issue. But for me, 3D printing is not one click magic, rather just another manufacture tech, although easier and cheaper to be done "at home".

ðŦ So it's not my fault can't fly with any wind over 5kts?

Aerogenisis A330 - Laminar A330 mod
Not quite a zibolization as 737, FMC/FCU/PFD/ND and most systems are all default, but hey, the default is kinda good enough anyway.

So thoughts on a retro simulation.
There are 70s' Euro nav/airport add-on for XP and IIRC 40s for continental USA as well? Back in 2000s I would like to have a fixed cycle at time because I'm too broke to subscript anything, but ended up find that it's even easier to sync everything by up to date rather than lock to a given time... not sure if it could also be true for those retro data

Heli trim...
I think first time I try out this kind of "force trim" is in DCS Blackshark1, but never like it Still prefer 4-way switch for trim for now

Tu-154
Having flow Tu154 from PT for FS9 I didn't really know much about the system, just do the steps... IMO virtual FE doesn't really that needed, like most 3 crew aircraft 727/742, FE just set and forget before flight, as long as nothing went wrong, it's even better than 727/747 as fuel management are also mostly automatic anyway. As for pilot's work, the AP is good enough and even came with AT and GPS, what else you'll need anyway...

Anyone Play FPS Games?
I used to play quite some Tactical shooters, R63, ArmA, insurgency, SWAT4, RoN. But when pursuing realism, I ended up in VR, mouse just doesn't control the gun well... Now I'm mainly shooting sosigs...
