(*) I have 777s in 3 of my desktop flight simulation platforms, P3D, Aerofly FS 4 and MSFS 2024, but haven't yet cross the fence for this FF 777...

It is in first place in my to-buy for already available aircraft for Xp12, but a bit expensive, so... maybe this interview does something about the deadlock :-)

Some details:

.) FF 777 uses X-Plane Flight Dynamics (no exterior model) alhough it externally model engines and drag ( whatever that means because I think drag IS FM...);

.) FBW is custom made;

.) 777 LR variants will come soon;

.) Still many things to fine tune in the FMC code;

.) MEL is a continued work and will get further detail, and be as close to being finished as possible. Around 300 new failures have been added, making around 60% of the full MEL implemented !!!

.) Replay system still being worked. Presently the electronic instruments do not correctly replay, and Replay is closely related to the implementation of "Shared Cockpit";

.) Shared Cockpit is still WIP, but they want to make it right & great !

.) EFB looks clumsy... A different version, optimized, and a Tablet for FF aircraft is in the plans too;

.) 787 PROJECT: Avionics are "done";

.) Most generic systems benefit from experience with the 777, but there are many differences / nuances...

.) There's also the A350 (partnered with GlidingWiki i guess...);

I have all of Flight Factors Boeing works but stay on the fence about the T7 because by cracky I’m just not much for long haul and that’s the corral this horse was built for. If only it came with a leap ahead to way point feature like the Tollis has I’d jump in quicker then a June bug on a cow pie.

Plenty of shorter routes on the 777F and 777W 2-3 hours duration, mostly the middle and far east.

TO N1 never matches the realworld data, outdated Normal checklist, Wrong turn on LOC capture, GPWS on stable final, late RA callout.... well, it's "not too much issue" on numbers but still very annoying for a normal A-B flight.

And don't let me start on the EICAS and NNC ECL logic... it's so painful to do even a simple engine failure drill, let along other "more than thousands of failure available"... PMDGT7 in P3D makes more scene on that.

Just wait for a sale should be a BIG one on July 4th - the discounts are pretty good.

I'm so in love with biz jets and turboprops lately, though, that I've no desire to buy another tubeliner. and I have the FF 757, anyway, so i'm pretty much set. :)

Yikes, sounds like I'll be sticking with the PMDG 777 👍

What I would give to have several IRL high time 777 pilots take the various incarnations through their paces and really highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each. 😎

FF and PMDG have put tremendous amounts of talented effort into those addons, but neither can be objective about their “children”.

It’d just be great to have a real Peer Review comparison for once!

That would be great. Some real T7 pilots who don't have a dog in the fight if that's possable.

No 2 pilots can agree on abything. Just read any aurcraft review.

It's hard to comprehend FF priorities on this aircraft. Nice and welcomed features like MEL, failures and maintenance stuff until you realize it's missing important functionalities to day to day normal ops. For me this product feels incomplete.

FMC still lacks some features, such as the ALTN page, E-O VNAV, offset, and so on. Also, some VNAV symbology are not displayed on the ND.

PMDG has its controversies and drama, but their fleet is top tier.

People will alwats find something to compain about. Seems to be a human trait. Mose people just get in and fly. Its not a commercial trainiing aircraft. They should charge $ 500 us fir all those features

I must admit its good to know real pilots, have a friend who flys for qantas, we where discussing manauls. The a380 has 2 one is abot 4000 pages the other 3000 pages, no wonder they dont print them any more, but he and even Janov has mentioned, there are things in the FMS that pilots dont know about and never use, yet people demand it all. and at no cost, of course than you have to by the manuals, hate to think how much they cost, as a pilot you get them for free

LOL, I’ve bought many study level aircraft and never get much deeper than a routine flight A to B. Right now I’m wrapping my head around the ERJ and E Jet from XCraft I just bought on sale. Very different than the Boeings and Air Busses and IMHO nowhere near as intuitive. But yea, a good hobby product doesn’t have to be as deep as the Marianas Trench.
