  1. I have one that I use for the Gunners seat in the DCS Apache. Works GREAT! But wouldn’t fly anything but War Thunder with a controller.
  2. Why? The airport is obviously tremendously popular. They and Matteo need to just fix the issues, and that seems to be happening.
  3. It’s not even that much work these days 🤙
  4. I already love the xp11 version, so if this is materially better, it’ll be heavenly 😁👍
  5. It could absolutely be. For eg, there’s a little seaside GA airfield I fly into where both ends of the runway are literally beach side. There’s usually a “burble” of air just as you pass over the rocks about 15 secs from touchdown. Which is cool that it’s there because I’m sure there is indeed some type of air disturbance rolling off the end of the small cliff (ie a reasonable effect). But it’s SO strong that just about every aircraft I’ve flown in there during windy days gets near to crashing. Hard for me to believe it’s anywhere near that severe in real life…
  6. Interesting! Must be like me with the Kodiak vs the BS Caravan 😁🤙
  7. Generally, all cyclic moves should be extremely small and very gradual. Using a short stick requires reducing the Sensitivity by quite a bit. If you’re just getting back in to helos, really whack that sensitivity until you get comfortable. Later on, reduce it as you get better at very fine control movements. The key with helos is learning to stay ahead of the helo. And if you’ve fallen behind, how to get back ahead. Another challenge in helos is there’s no instant gratification as with fixed wings. You’ve got to practice, practice, practice. Once you can get into a reasonably stable hover, next step is learning to hover taxi. And it WILL be “taxing” at first! 😂 Finally, remember that even tho the physical controls look almost exactly the same as in an airplane, they have entirely different effects on a helo. P.s., yes, helos will hover, but they still carry a LOT of momentum. I.e., they don’t stop in a dime, and in fact take quite a bit of time to slow down. This series of videos is one of the best I’ve ever come across for helo simulation instruction. Bonus is that it focuses on a helo that’ll be quite similar to the Mi-2 for MSFS: pss: Pss: You do NOT need a force feedback stick for helos (very nice to have, but not at all necessary).
  8. I don’t need it in MSFS because I already have it in XP 😎🤙
  9. Oops - wrong plane for me. I have had the same thing happen in the Phenom, fwiw.🤙
  10. Could be 🤷‍♂️ But the fact that they’re working this hard on v2020 is a very positive sign for 2024
  11. Yeah - I moved the PC-12 to the boneyard during that period and haven’t bothered with it since. I get to ride on one of these a couple times a year, so I guess I should try it out again to see. But that just left such a bad taste in my mouth that I always opt for the FSR500 or Turbine Duke instead.
  12. Now THAT is a Proper change log! The rotor and engine dynamics changes added here are one of the most immersive aspects of flying the Mi-8 and Mi-24 in DCSW.😎 This is shaping up to be an incredibly well executed addon! Hopefully not too long to wait for v2024 🙏
  13. B2024’s release was like serving prime rib for a party of 12. Screwing up an airport this badly is like charring a hot dog.
  14. Yep. It’s kinda like a hammer. Great for pounding nails, but ya really gotta watch your thumbs!👍
  15. You're certainly entitled to be wrong. 😂👍 Have a great day!
  16. I swear I'm not a "completionist", but I felt bad leaving the 736 behind in 2020, so i plunked down "a couple of beers" and got the $14 PMDG 736 upgrade to go along with my BBJ1 and "bootleg" 738. Since Janet is one of the default liveries, this seemed appropriate for the maiden flight in 2024 😎 Have been flying light GA & helos pretty much exclusively for months now, but this quickie flight reminded me how much I enjoy the 737.
  17. Out of curiosity, I just loaded up there with the handcrafted airfield and flew a Kodiak around in a HIGHLY illegal manner 😂 Did a bunch of STOL landings and fast taxis all over and didn’t see any elevation issues. Hopefully, Matteo & Orbx can get off that hill and figure out where the internal issue is with their software 🙏 It seems like a decent scenery as-is, but I definitely understand wanting a Hi Fi up to date version when that’s a personally important airfield. 🤙 P.s.: Man…it’s hard to believe, but now that I think of it, I haven’t IRL been to KATL in something like 30 years!!
  18. Yes, I can agree with this in general. 👍 As a frequent helo pilot, I do love getting around and enjoying the unprecedented detail in this sim, and of course, enhancements such as Cli4D, etc. And I do find the alternate vehicles like the various cars and watercraft interesting, too. But since I don’t have any aircraft of my own, I don’t make use of the them yet! So, my criticisms are really focused specifically towards the hyper detailed yet boring airport public areas themselves. Like @virtuali’s example above, off limits areas like a functional control tower, fire station, etc, would be far more interesting to explore. 🤙
  19. How is the airport when the new addon isn’t installed…? If normal, then Matteo/Orbx are dissembling.
  20. I doubt it will be enough. But even if it did, I’d be gobsmacked if they simply walked away from literally millions of dollars per year of revenue that their existing customers are comfortably accustomed to paying.
  21. Wut…? Satellite imagery for flight sim has been around since at least the FSX days. And nobody’s complaining about a high level of detail, per se. The root questions are how that detail affects performance, stability, time to market, productivity, and cost. Further, when airport devs are ALSO clearly ignoring or underserving airport aspects directly related to flight sim, then yeah, it’s a disservice to the primary customer use case. Further, I do wonder what percentage of buyers are actually utilizing those features? I.e., is it really driving sales vs the counterpoint features mentioned here…? Somehow I kinda doubt it of all other things were equal. While I’ve no issue with MSFS as a Sandbox to play in however one chooses, and I CERTAINLY agree that MSFS will gradually expand beyond flight sim, I’d rather have more interesting places to explore in detail than an indoor retail mall.
  22. <sigh> Physics isn’t self serving. Your question of contrasting the handling of the aircraft and/or this addon relative to the Phenom is fair. However, your premise of a heavier aircraft moving less is simply missing the mark by (at least) a mile. If it were valid, nobody would ever get injured by turbulence on an airliner.
