Are many people still using this version? Looking at MSFS2024 seems more stable now and more content is out for.

Just iffy about learning the new interface for it.

Have a question. I am still using a bunch of Goflight hardware.I have loaded up FSX also and when I i fire up MSFS2020 I fire up the Goflight interface.

The hardware then works in MSFS2020. Has anybody tried this for MSFS2024

I have been using FS24 since December 25 and had no difficulty using my fourteen GoFlight modules including launching the GF interface so as to use my radios with the corresponding digits, simply follow the same procedure as with FS20.

The number of users using MSFS2020 is diminishing every day. (As can be expected for a 6 year old platform, which was effectively replace 2 years ago).

I don't blame anyone who makes a choice to stick with the old platform - it's entirely their choice. It's when they expect continuous updates and new product versions for an old sim, that things get unrealistic.

If you choose to stay with 2020, in my opinion you should accept the fact that your platform will effectively be frozen. The number of updates and new products for the old sim will diminish exponentially, as each month passes.

I don't remember many vendors developing products for FS9, two years into FSX's release. It's the natural way of things.

Short answer: MSFS 2024 is the latest platform and is absolutely amazing. There'd have to be a good alternative case, to put that aside and choose to use a 6 year old, non-current platform.

Still on MSFS2020!

Only problem is it won't load anymore and crashes so maybe not quite "still on it" :)

Still using FS2020 tho I do have FS2024 running.

Since I have to redo everything for my peripherals and reset (and learn) all the parameters for the new system (and I'm upgrading my hardware) there isn't enough time in my schedule to do any real flying with '24 yet.

Yes...2020 and will remain so.

Never will purchase 2024

Still on 2020 with no plans to go to 2024 until I get a new PC. I'm a bit concerned about the 12 GB vram with my 3080ti and complex airports and aircraft if I go to 2024.

I only upgraded from FSX to 2020 in July 2025 so it's still quite new to me.

I only have 2020 still installed so Orbx, etc will keep my legacy 2020 addons up to date. Ive stripped it down to just bare bones.

IIRC, we’ve seen stats that 2024 has become the more popular version not too long ago.

If you can handle v2020’s interface, you’ll have no issue with v2024’s. Free Flight is right there in the main page.

Sorry, I know nothing about go flight hw. All I can say is my HOTAS and such work just as well in 2024 as they did in 2020.

Look into the $1 game Pass trial. You’ll be able to use 2024 for a month, and then either buy or cancel.

FWIW, I have a 12gb 4070 and an old 5600x cpu. While I do occasionally get “vram” warnings with some addons at the beginning of the flight, they go away after the first minute or so. I can’t remember the last time the sim crashed on me, so it’s just not affecting me.

Give the $1 trial a shot. Could work just fine for you. 🤙

I may do that just to see if I can run 2024 well with my hardware and also my 55 mbps internet.

I have rubbish BT 60mbps rural broadband. MSFS2024 works fine with it. You're 380ti will be okay too...

You will be fine. I have a 4070 paired to a 14900 and can run the sim smoothly with settings on a mix of high and ultra. I have what amounts to a 40 mbps connection and have no issue with the download at all.

Stats I've heard from a few devs (not quoting anyone specifically because I won't do that), and stats (when I had them) from my own liveries are around 80 % 2024 and 20% 2020 (this is payware sales etc)

I understand 2020 users still want addons, but developing a 2024 native addon AND a 2020 addon is almost double the work, as they are very different workflows.

Yes, will keep 2020, runs great & looks great, if for nothing else but the simpler camera/controller setup.
